It uses the DECT 6.0 wireless format, meaning that it operates at a wireless frequency of 1.9 GHz so as not to interfere with other wireless electronics. The handset has an amber-backlit LCD display, and rechargeable batteries that come with a charge station. The handset can be used as an intercom with other handsets or compatible bases, and it has its own independent ringer volume and silent mode. It can access the main unit's phone book, voice mail, and caller ID, though it does not have the talking caller ID function that some of Panasonic's base units may have. It is available only in silver, and has backlit keys, as well as 4 different ringtone melodies. This is an entry-level handset.
